Samsung is close to launching the second generation of the Galaxy SmartTag tracker

A new version of the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag tracker device has received the “Bluetooth SIG” certification, which indicates that the second generation of the device will soon be announced and launched in the market.

The listings posted on the official Bluetooth website explicitly refer to the upcoming new version of the Galaxy SmartTag tracker and describe it as “a device used to find and track objects with the help of Samsung’s IoT ecosystem.”

The site includes two products with the same name as well as the model number (EI-T5600), which means that Samsung will once again launch two versions of the device, one that supports Bluetooth technology only, while the other supports two Bluetooth technologies with Ultra Wide Band UWB.

The second generation of the Samsung tracker will support Bluetooth 5.3 technology, which is an upgrade from the Bluetooth 5.1 technology present in the first generation.

The latest Bluetooth 5.3 technology provides many advantages, as it is lower in energy consumption, gives a more stable wireless connection, wider coverage, in addition to being more secure, which means better performance and longer battery life.

It is expected that the second generation of the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag tracker will support the ability to connect with additional applications besides the Samsung SmartThings application, such as the famous Android application Find My Device, in addition to other improvements such as adding a stronger speaker to make it easier to find it by voice.

It is expected that Samsung will officially announce the new tracker at the end of this July at the Galaxy Unpacked conference, during which it will unveil many new products, the most important of which are new versions of its foldable phones.
